Known informally as The Fleshtones Hall of Fame, here is your virtual home for The Fleshtones, the four most exciting men in rock & roll. Since the summer of 1976 The Fleshtones have been blending rock & roll with R&B, and garage with dance and serving it from town to town across the globe with a smile, a great attitude, and lots of late-night sweat. For years, they've simply called it Super Rock.
The Fleshtones are Peter Zaremba (vocals, harmonica, & organ), Keith Streng (guitar & vocals), Bill Milhizer (drums & vocals), and Ken Fox (bass & vocals). Based in Brooklyn, New York, the quartet's origins lie just a few miles north in Queens, where in 1975 Streng and original bass player Marek Pakulski rented "The House," as it was infamously known, and found instruments down in the basement. To quote Keith: "How and why The Fleshtones started was that there was a place to do it!" Countless "Blue Whale Bashes," Lower East Side sightings, and an endless string of gigs and records later, The Fleshtones continue to record and perform with a wit, passion, and energy that few bands can top.

Last night's Fleshtones show aboard the Half Moon circling New York City was a great event. From perfect weather and views, to a solid set from these aging, yet ageless wonders - this was truly a night to remember.
The night started with a personal greeting from Mr. Zaremba and finished with a sampling of songs from the entire catalog. The fun started off with a cover of Let Me Take You On A Sea Cruise and continued with Pretty, Pretty, Pretty, Girl From Baltimore, The Dreg, Screaming Skull and some songs from the new album.
The 'Tones managed to keep their balance and humor as the boat wobbled on its turns around the Statue of Liberty. References to the USA and July 4th were mentioned often as well as numerous nautical jokes.
News arrives that the guys are currently in the studio recording a Christmas album with Ivan Julian. No information as to song titles but we believe that they are going to be a mix of covers and topical originals. Or should that read "tropical" as the temperature in NYC was touching ninety degrees a few days ago and which must make life interesting if are trying to record Christmas tunes. Not that the Hoodoo Gurus would have a problem with such a scenario. Anybody have any ideas as to what the Fleshtones might call the album?

“This is a Monday night, in Paris!,” announced Peter Zaremba mid-way through the set at La Locomotive at the start of the Fleshtones’ latest Euro jaunt. A near capacity crowd reacted with enthusiasm to an upbeat performance (are they ever downbeat?) as the ‘Tones commenced a two week trip around France that includes “one night only” appearances in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Holland. Placing the emphasis on material from Take A Good Look, the new album on Yep Roc, the band refused to remain static and used every square metre of the venue for strumming power chords, performing press-ups, and singing a cappella. The audience responded by dancing to current party starters like Feels Good To Feel and Love Yourself, inserting “Hey!” at the appropriate moment, and following the band from one end of the venue to the other. Thank the gods that the ‘Tones can still perform in such a manner and in front of fans that are not inclined to launch beer into the air or wrestle them to the ground. One of the warmest moments of the evening was spotting members of the support band, the New Christs, crowded around the stage door, wearing big smiles and taking pictures of the mayhem. Thirty years down the line and the Fleshtones continue to deliver catchy material with energy and enthusiasm that puts most bands to shame. On current evidence there is no reason why they should not enjoy many more Monday night’s in Paris.
